Path Analysis Amongs Education level, Employment Status and Self-Esteem Effecting on the Life Satisfaction of the Elderly

Abstract
This research investigates to analyze mediating effects of self-esteem on employment status as well as education level have effect on life satisfaction of the elderly. This study used 11th panel data of KoWePS(Korean Welfare Panel Study) and employed Path analysis with A-MOS. The results of this study are as followed£ºFirst, employment condition as well as education level are found to have direct effect on self-esteem and life satisfaction. Second, We found not full but partial mediating effect of self-esteem between employment condition and life satisfaction as well as between education level and life satisfaction. Therefore we can suggest that self-esteem improvement for elderly including music as well as art therapy are urgently needed in order that the life satisfaction of retired elderly as well as low educated elderly may not be declined.
